Maze Trip, 2004
April 10-18, 2004
(Misc. pictures, etc.)

This page has misc. pictures from the 2004 maze trip, in no particular order.  This is a small sampling of the 60+ images that were taken.
(Admittedly, these are some of the best of the lot.)

There aren't very many pictures of me as I was usually the one holding the camera.

A few "movies" - unedited.  (.AVI format, no sound - use Windows Media Player)

These are at a resolution of 320x240.  They will probably look better in a small window than a larger one.

- Brett, Nathan, Alex - Attempting to enjoy dinner, 4/12/04 (1 meg, 8 seconds)
- Coming up the talus slope at the head of Shot Canyon, 4/18/04 (4.6 meg, 32 seconds)
- Scrambling up the pouroff at the head of Shot Canyon, 4/18/04 (7.3 meg, 50 seconds)

Note:  The above images and movies were taken with a cheap, fixed-focus $70 3-megapixel digital camera.  All still images were rocessed/cropped/adjusted in some way to enhance/correct brightness/color in some way.

This camera may have a 3-megapixel imager in it but its lens isn't even as good as 1 megapixel equivalent.  You'll notice that the still pictures only have good focus in the center and that the corners are somewhat darker and blurrier than the rest of the image with the "darkening" being most evident at the end of the "Talus Slope" movie during the wide shot.  Being that most of the still pictures have been cropped, the worst of the effect is not as evident on those images.

I have a few pictures of other things - like the Harvest Scene, etc. that I could stick on here, but I have yet to do so.

Comment:  As it turns out, my 35mm film camera was in worse shape than I thought:   The film advance mechanism appeared to have jammed and no 35mm images were recorded at all.  (In fact, entire roll is still unexposed, as it was never fed through.)
